Just days after state officials announced the redesign of an intersection of Jones County, a two-vehicle crash injures a motorist.
The Jones County Fire Council, which provided the photos, says the collision happed on Highway 84 East and Magnolia Road.
The fire council says a Honda Accord collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe. A witness says the driver of the Tahoe jumped out of his vehicle and ran from the scene. The driver of the Accord was later transported to South Central Regional Medical Center.
The identity of the Accord driver was not released – but the fire council notes the motorist is 48 years old and the person's injuries appear to be moderate and non life-threatening.
The Highway Patrol is treating this case as a hit-and-run – and continues to investigate.
