Jones County vet receives French medal

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

On Tuesday, John Myers, 92, received a French award at the Laurel Veteran's Museum.

Myers Received the Knight of the Legion of Honour on his 92nd birthday.

Myers joined the army in 1942 until 1945.

Myers has been awarded several medals including the Bronze Star, Good Conduct and many others.

Myers said "It is hard to explain it. You just feel it. And I've had a lot of honors and this is one of the highest ones."
