Hattiesburg Salvation Army's Angel Tree program nears deadline for donations

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Tuesday morning, Salvation Army Captain Andy Gilliam announced there were only two days left to fulfill a child's Christmas wish through the Angel Tree program.

However, there is some good news. Gilliam says there are only 60 angels left that need to be adopted. He says two years ago there were 800 angels left before the deadline, and 200 left last year. Gilliam says having only 60 is an encouraging sign that every child in the program will have a gift to open Christmas morning.

Gilliam added the public can go adopt those last angels at Forrest General Hospital, Turtle Creek Mall in Hattiesburg, Sawmill Square Mall in Laurel, Citizens National Bank and Wesley Hospital in Hattiesburg.
