Covington County foundation donates hundreds of Christmas gifts to children

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The LFB Foundation hosted its 3rd Annual Toy Drive Giveaway and its 1st Annual Stuff the Stocking Giveaway Saturday morning.

By placing several toy boxes throughout Jones, Forrest and Covington County, the LFB Foundation was able to give more than 350 children in Collins a Christmas gift.

Thanks to the community and their donations, not only did the children receive a gift, but more than 300 residents also enjoyed a Christmas dinner.

“I just want to thank the community, thank everybody who donated, church groups, all the way from Collins, Hattiesburg, Laurel,” said LFB Foundation Vice President Tammy Coats. “Everybody came together for the cause and we just want to thank you on behalf of the LFB Foundation.”

Aside from Saturday’s event, the LFB Foundation also helps the community with a summer feeding program, a walk for lupus, and after school tutoring.
