GED class raffles $300 bear in order to help angel tree children

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The GED class district inside Sawmill Square Mall in Laurel is raffling off a 6-foot tall bear.

By buying a dollar ticket not only will residents help the GED class district give a gift to a child, but also gives them a chance to win a Vermont teddy bear.

With the money collected the GED class will be able to purchase many gifts for a young boy and girl on the Salvation Army angel tree.

"We want to make sure that a little boy and girl does have a great Christmas, and this is one way to do it," said instructor for GED class of the district Dianne Napier.

Dianne says the 6-foot tall Vermont teddy bear's retail price is $300.

The raffle will end December 21, in which a name will be drawn out.
