Jones county resident airlifted after two-vehicle accident on interstate

According to Jones County Fire Council Public Information Officer Linda Cranford, at approximately 3:15 p.m. a two-vehicle accident occurred on the interstate of 84 East and Magnolia Rd.

A total of seven were injured in the accident which involved a black Toyota Camry and a gray Chevrolet Silverado.

The 10-year-old girl from the Silverado was airlifted due to life-threatening conditions, and the other six were transported to Forrest General Hospital and South Central Regional Medical Center and are in moderate to critical conditions.

This is the second accident in two days at the same interstate.

    Following a school-record 55 wins and run that ended in an 8-7 loss in the NJCAA national championship, Jones County Junior College softball is eager to open the 2018 season on February 3. Coming that close to the school’s first national title serves as motivation enough for the Lady Bobcats. Regardless, expectations are always high for coach Chris Robinson’s teams – JCJC is a combined 105-12 the last two seasons.
