Winning Powerball tickets sold in AZ, Kansas City, MO

(RNN) - Some lucky people in Arizona and Missouri will split the record estimated payout of $587.5 million from the Powerball lottery after the Wednesday drawing.

KCTV reported one of the winning tickets was sold in the Kansas City, MO, area. Arizona lottery officials announced the winning ticket there was a $10 "quick pick" bought from a store in the Phoenix area, according to KPHO.

It has not been announced how many winners will split the jackpot.

The winning numbers for Wednesday's Powerball drawing are 5, 16, 22, 23, 29 and the Powerball is 6.

Tickets for Wednesday night's drawing were reportedly selling at a rate of 130,000 per minute.

Shortly after the drawing, the Powerball website temporarily crashed from the high volume of traffic.

Powerball estimated the odds of winning the jackpot at 1 in 175,223,510. 

In all, 42 states, plus Washington and the U.S. Virgin Islands sell Powerball tickets.

In addition to the two grand prize tickets, 66 players matched the first 5 numbers for a $1,000,000 prize, according to a Powerball release.

The breakdown state by state: One from Arizona, one from Colorado, three from Connecticut, six from Florida, one from Georgia, one from Idaho, two from Illinois, two from Indiana, one from Kentucky, one from Louisiana, one from Maryland, four from Massachusetts, two from Michigan, one from Minnesota, two from Missouri, eight from New Jersey, two from New Mexico, four from New York, three from North Carolina, two from Ohio, one from Oklahoma, three from Pennsylvania, three from South Carolina, two from Tennessee, four from Texas, four from Virginia and one from Wisconsin.
