HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

With everyone out Black Friday shopping, some are choosing to stock up on guns instead of televisions and video games.

Officials with the annual Hattiesburg Gun and Knife Show at the Forrest County Multi-Purpose Center are expecting their biggest crowds ever.

The Hattiesburg show is already the second largest gun show in the state and boasts 300 tables with all sorts of guns, knives and accessories. Gun show promoters say the event has grown every year, so much so they may need a larger building.

Gun sales are up across the country as firearm manufactures' stock soars. Hattiesburg Gun and Knife Show coordinators say a firearm is an investment that keeps its value and with over 300 hundred vendors ,there'll be plenty there to choose from.

"The last two years its been picking up especially with the unknown economic situations and the things that are going on with the United States. One of the things is firearms never lost value. A good collectable firearm today is worth more than it was a year ago," says Jim Jackson of Worldwide Firearms.

The Hattiesburg Gun and Knife show runs Saturday and Sunday with the doors to the Forrest County Multi-Purpose Center opening at 9 a.m.
