The opposition is not supposed to get any easier advancing in the state high school football playoffs.
No one knows that better than the Monroe Tornadoes.
After going on the road and beating 5th ranked Griffin in the opening round of the state playoffs, Monroe know travels to Waynesboro to play 3rd ranked and last year's AAA state champion Burke County.
The Bears have won nine straight games and are led by talented quarterback Donquell Green.
Monroe feels good about their chances with their talented quarterback Charles Stafford.
Coach Charles Truitt knows his team will need their quarterback to have another big game but he also believes his defense can have say on whether the Tornadoes can advance to the state quarterfinals.
"We are hoping our defense will be able to play and contain him. We do know our quarterback has been hot also. I think if we have to score offensively, we will score some points. We don't to get in a shootout on that side of the field. Charles is playing extremely good. He is playing extremely well right now", said head coach Charles Truitt.
Monroe will play Burke County Friday night in Waynesboro.
