Former Alabama Crimson Tide golfer Bud Cauley has been named a finalist for the 2012 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year Award. The three-time All-American at Alabama led all tour rookies with six top-10 finishes in 2012.
Cauley played in 28 PGA TOUR events in 2012, and placed 38th in the final FedEx Cup rankings. The native of Jacksonville, Fla., finished the season 44th overall on the final official money list with earnings of $1.74 million.
Other nominees include Charlie Beljan, Jonas Blixt, John Huh and Ted Potter, Jr.
Players were nominated by the PGA TOUR Player Directors and members of the Player Advisory Council. The winner will be determined by a member vote, with PGA Tour members who played in at least 15 official money events in 2012 eligible to vote.
During his time at the Capstone, Cauley was a member of the 2009 United States Walker Cup Team. He currently holds UA records for average scoring at 71.36 among players with at least 45 career rounds.
The winner will be announced in early December by the PGA TOUR, but be sure to follow the Crimson Tide on Facebook at Alabama-mens-golf and on Twitter @AlabamaMGolf.
