Hattiesburg police offer safety tips for Holiday season

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Tuesday afternoon Lieutenant Jon Traxlor cautioned the public with safety tips for this holiday season.

Lt. Traxlor says when you are locking your car don't hit the lock in your car, or your key and trust that your car is lock. He says always check the car door handles and make sure it's locked .

Traxlor urges the public to be aware of your surroundings. He says someone could be watching you as you carry your bags, and walk from store to store. 

Officials say criminals also have techniques they use right under your nose. To find out what they are tune in tonight at six.
