HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Forrest General Hospital partnered up with the Junior Auxiliary, the American Heart Association, and the Pine Belt Wellness Council to distribute placemats at Earl Travillion Attendance Center Friday.
Designed by the Mississippi Public Broadcasting "Ed Said" program, the placemats will hopefully promote healthy eating for students during their meals at school and also encourage a healthy lifestyle.
"It just gives them an idea of proportions, and also which foods they should be eating every day," said Forrest General's Chief Marketing and Medical Staff Services Officer Millie Swan. "We lead in childhood obesity and we've got to come together and try to change that statistic."
All students K – 6 grade at Earl Travillion Attendance Center received a placemat.
