Golden Eagles prevail over Georgia 62-60 in OT

Behind Dwayne Davis's double-double, and Jerrold Brook's 17 points, Southern Miss took down SEC foe Georgia 62-60 in overtime Thursday night. In only their second game of the season, the Golden Eagles (2-0) played their second straight overtime game, and only trailed 3-2 in the opening minutes. They lead by as many as 11 points in the first half.

Davis scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Brooks shot 50 percent from three-point range. The bulldogs tied the game at 55 with 1:26 remaining in regulation, and through four timeouts and a turnover by both squads, neither team could find a score before the extra period.

Southern Miss grabbed its first ever win over Georgia in the three-game series.
