HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Authorities captured in Ohio on Thursday the Hattiesburg woman suspected of shooting and killing her neighbor.

Authorities arrested Tamira Peoples in Lorain, OH around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.

The suspect was located and arrested without incident, and her child was also located and is safe. The stolen vehicle was also located at a local business.

She will be extradited back to Mississippi.

Peoples, 37, is charged with murder and aggravated assault. She allegedly shot Samina Gholar, 22, as she stood in the doorway of her Briarfield apartment and also wounded Gholar's mother.

Police believe Peoples escaped the scene in a stolen car and was traveling with her 3-year-old son.

Police say the shooting occurred at about 10 a.m. Monday in Building E of the Briarfield Apartments on East Second Street. An unknown assailant shot two women, one of whom died at the scene. Emergency responders transported the other woman to a local hospital.
