Former Biloxi Mayor brought to halfway house in Hattiesburg

Former Biloxi Mayor Pete Halat was released from federal prison in Oakdale, LA Tuesday and brought to a halfway house in Hattiesburg.

He's been in the low security prison for the past 15 years after being found guilty of conspiracy in the murders of his former law partner Vincent Sherry and his wife Councilwoman Margaret Sherry, a mayoral hopeful at the time.

Halat, who is now 70 is expected to be released from the halfway house April 24 when his sentence ends.
