Posted: Updated:

Vanessa Pacheco was born and raised in Houston, Texas, the oldest of four children. Scouted from high school to play soccer for college, Vanessa ended up in Louisiana. She attended Grambling State University where she graduated with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Mass Communications with emphasis in Visual Communications and a Masters of Arts in Mass Communications.

As the oldest and the first to graduate in the family, Vanessa is determined to be a role-model for her three brothers and inspire them to be great in everything they do and make her parents proud.

Vanessa's parents always envisioned her on television, and although she decided to pursue graphic design Vanessa's life ended up leading her to the broadcasting world.

In 2012 Vanessa moved to the Hattiesburg area and began reporting at WDAM.

"WDAM has changed my life; I can't envision my future without being a part of television."

When not reporting, Vanessa enjoys sports, photography, and spending time with family, friends, and her computer.
