JCJC basketball holds media day

Only a week left until Jones County Junior College opens up the 2012-2013 season, and fans will see both familiar and new faces on the Bobcat sideline. Jay Ladner, who spent over 20 years as a high school coach, will make his debut for the JCJC men's squad, while the women's team welcomes Sandra Sumrall for a 14th straight campaign.

The men's team returns six sophomores from last year's squad, and also welcomes a one time high school Parade All-American in transfer Tanner Wozniak, who transferred from Florida International University.

The women's team will have very limited, if any experience from a year ago, as Sumrall's group features only one sophomore and 13 freshman. That one sophomore, Aswandra Cooks, returns to JCJC after taking a year away from school.

Both teams begin their season Nov. 1 when they host Delgado.
