FORREST COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

Tis the season! It may not be time to celebrate Christmas, but it is time to start preparing for it.

One way to jump start the season is a Christmas musical. Producer and Actor, Michael Young will bring the musical "The Forgotten Carols" to the Saegner Theater, December 2.

Young says the play is about hope and redemption two themes he says people need to hear about during the holiday season. Young, along with Broadway and Hollywood actors, will perform in 16 cities across the Southeast.

They'll use their talents to tell the story of a nurse who has lost her way in life, and meets a crazy old man who sings forgotten carols from people he has met over the past 2,000 years. Young says the best part of this event is all the proceeds from the tickets will go to Christian Services annual event "Birthday party for Jesus."

"This is a way to spiritually feed them, but by taking the proceeds and giving it to charity we will be able to feed them literally with Christian Services," said Young.

"One of the big things that the kids get other than the Christmas carols and the Christmas story is a gift that no one else has ever had. Bringing this money in from the event at the Saegner, and suddenly we have the money that is necessary to take care of the gifts for the kids," said Christian Services President, Bill Prout.

The Forgotten Carols will be Sunday, December 2  at 7 p.m. For more information on the musical and how to purchase tickets visit http://www.hattiesburgsaenger.com/saenger/
