"Tails and Ales" Thursday at Keg and Barrel in Hattiesburg

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The Southern Pine Animal Shelter is hosting its second annual "Tails and Ales: Find your soul-mutt" Thursday evening.

The event is at the Keg and Barrel on Hardy Street in Hattiesburg from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The $20 admission fee includes a "Tails and Ales" t-shirt, a complimentary beer and a $10 gift certificate from Keg and Barrel, entry fee in the pet costume contest, and a chance for some to find their perfect family pet.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own dogs on a leash to the event to meet bachelor and bachelorette pups and show off their own pet costumes.

"We're really excited abut this event because it's a unique way for us to help homeless animals find good homes while raising much needed funds," said Valerie Rachal, Research and Development Manager for Southern Pines. "

Anyone interested in meeting adoptable pets can also go across the street to the Adoption Center at the Spay and Neuter Clinic on the corner of Hutchinson Avenue and Hardy Street.
