4th Dist. Congressional candidate speaks in Hattiesburg

The Democratic candidate for Congress from the 4th District made a campaign stop in Hattiesburg Thursday night. Biloxi businessman and student Matt Moore spoke at a monthly meeting of Forrest County Democrats.

Moore entered the race just six weeks ago, after former Democratic nominee Michael Herrington of Hattiesburg withdrew.

Moore is a 36-year-old Navy veteran who was born in Gulfport.

"I believe that we need representation that truly cares about all the people, regardless of party affiliation, that intends to work with the White House, regardless of who's elected, plans on working with senators and House representatives, regardless of their party affiliation, to make sure that Southern Mississippi is take care of," said Moore.

He'll face Republican incumbent Congressman Steven Palazzo on Nov. 6.
