MARION COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

The Marion county narcotics task force in concert with the sheriff's department and Columbia police department rounded up 25 for drug related charges Saturday. Marion county Sheriff, Berkley Hall, says the sting took months of planning and they're pleased with the success of the operation. Hall says the task force will do anything it can to curb drug use and addiction with kids.

"My biggest concern is there is such a rise in drug abuse among our young children. You know, you're selling it to an adult they know what they're getting most likely, whereas a child you're setting the rest of that child's life"

Among the 25 all drug related charges in Saturday's roundup 15 were within 1,500 feet of a school or church and several involving guns which double or in some cases triple the sentence when convicted.
