Stion offers tour of new plant in Hattiesburg

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Gulf States Renewable Energy Industries Association held a meeting at Stion Solar Manufacturing Plant in Hattiesburg for interested parties and members to learn about state policies in Mississippi and the future of renewable energy tax credit programs.

Stion, as well as hosting the event, gave a tour of their thin-film solar panel manufacturing facility.

    Jones County Junior College sophomore right-hander Will Freeman struck out a season-high 18 batters in a complete-game effort Tuesday afternoon as the No. 3 Bobcats downed No. 4 Pearl River Community College 2-0 in the first game of a Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges’ baseball doubleheader. The victory moved the Bobcats (32-7, 17-4 MACJC) into a first-place tie with the Wildcats (31-8, 17-4) atop the league standings.
