LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -
Laurel's Loblolly Festival is taking place Saturday in downtown Laurel.
The festival is held each year on the first Saturday in October and celebrates Laurel's heritage as a sawmill town.
Venders from several states will set up shop on the streets of the city with a variety of arts and crafts. There will be a variety of live music throughout the day. Food vendors will be selling every type of festival food imaginable. Also Mr. Loblolly will visit with the crowd and photo opportunities will be available.
For the first time, the sale of alcohol will be allowed in designated areas.
The festival goes from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
