The management and staff at Hattiesburg's Christian Services, Inc. are saying their 4th annual Stuff a Truck event was a great success and they're thanking you for helping to make it so. Wednesday, Christian Services, in collaboration with WDAM-TV, asked you to bring in donations of non-perishable food items and fill up a truck in front of the Mattress Express on Highway 98.

Many of you did just that and as a result, nearly 12,000 pounds of food was collected to feed the hungry in our area.

"We unloaded it last night and it looks like between 11 and 12,000 pounds that came in yesterday in canned, dried, bottled, whatever...the people went to the stores and bought things and brought them to the truck," said Bill Prout, executive director of Christian Services, Inc.

Next week, you'll have a chance to help out the Laurel Christian Food Mission with its food drive...that will be on Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
