RICHTON, MS (WDAM) -

It all starts with the quarterback. Last Friday, three Richton High School touchdowns started with quarterback Jacob Finley. The final touchdown, and ultimately, the Rebel's one-point overtime win over North Forrest, finished with Finley.

The junior rushed for 48 yards, and the go-ahead score in the extra period, while throwing for 124 yards and three touchdowns to three different targets in regulation. "I just felt like it was time. I needed to step up, district game, and I did," said Finley on Monday.

Most importantly, Finley gave his team its first district win, and kept the Rebels among the ranks of the undefeateds. "It was exciting. We were all speechless," said the Rebels gunslinger, "We were all pumped up."

"It was exciting for everybody. It was pretty nail-biting," said Richton Head Coach Stephen Rice, "We've had some good quarterbacks, but Jacob's definitely a true passer, and he's got a run threat to him."

The Rebels barely finished off the Eagles, but they're far from finished. This Friday, the team hosts 3-3 West Lincoln, before daunting trips to 5-1 Lumberton and undefeated Bassfield.
