Presidential race forum held at Lake Terrace

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

In advance of Wednesday's presidential debate a political forum was held at the Lake Terrace Convention Center Tuesday afternoon.

State Auditor Stacy Pickering and Democratic National Convention Chairwoman Carolyn Warner were at the forum to talk about their parties candidates for president. Pickering is Romney's State Chairman and Warner was there to speak for President Obama.

With  35-days to go before the election both say they are optimistic with the candidates chances and they believe every debate is going to be critical.

"If you take a look at what happened this past year during the republican debates they had a larger viewer ship the presidential debates four-years-ago," said Pickering. "More people are concerned in what the candidates have to say, what they believe, and what their plan is for the future."

"I think it will be a very interesting debate. The first one always is and to a very large degree will set the tone," said Warner. "I believe that the president has a global view where we are as nation and where we ought to be and how we are going to get there."

There will be a total of four debates between Romney and President Obama between now and the election.
