A 14-year-old Hattiesburg High School student is being held in the Forrest County Detention Center for bringing a gun to school.
Officials say a student called the campus school Crime Stoppers program during lunch to report a student with a gun. A resource officer went to the student's classroom and found an unloaded pistol in his backpack.
The student was handcuffed and immediately taken to the detention center for questioning.
