Poplarville, Miss. FEMA opened a long term Disaster Recovery Center in Poplarville Tuesday. Residents in Pearl River, Jackson, Hancock, and Harrison Counties are now eligible for federal individual assistance for damage as a result of Hurricane Isaac. Victims can apply for temporary housing, grants for disaster-related expenses not covered by insurance, and low interest disaster loans from the Small Business Administration. Emergency food stamp and state nutritional assistance is also available.
