HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Tuesday morning Forrest County Emergency Management Director Terry Steed said gauging Hurricane Isaac's trajectory over the last 48 hours has essentially been like trying to pin down a moving target.

"The best we can tell this morning, that some time late afternoon we'll start getting gale force winds. Twenty,, 30, 40 mile-an-hour sustained, and a little higher gusts," Steed estimated. "About midnight or thereafter we'll get some winds - 40 to 50 with higher gusts. That should be the most we get."

Steed said the worst part will arrive after dark, which is not ideal. "It's bad that it'll hit at night because just the fact that it's in the dark, people tend to be a little more afraid of things that happen and you can't see it and you don't know what's going on, so yea, it's a little worse to react to."
