MOSELLE, MS (WDAM) -

WDAM-TV is mourning the loss of long-time director of engineering, Jim Wilkinson.

Wilkinson passed away Sunday morning after a long battle with cancer.

Jim started at WDAM 30 years ago in the engineering department and was a tireless worker who devoted almost every waking hour to the station. It was Wilkinson who kept WDAM on the air during the dark days of Katrina and every other disaster over the last 30 years.

Jim was at the forefront of the HD conversion, and he will miss seeing it hit the air by a few days. He would have been at the station around the clock for Isaac.

Funeral services are incomplete at this time. He is survived by his wife and three children. Jim Wilkinson was 53-years-old.
