PETAL, MS (WDAM) -

An organization that's been an integral part of economic development in Petal is celebrating its golden anniversary at its new home. The Petal Area Chamber of Commerce is 50 years old.

And Wednesday, the organization hosted a birthday party and open house at its new address at 117 N. Main St.

The Chamber was founded in August of 1962.

"This is a new beginning for us," said Deborah Reynolds, president of the Petal Area Chamber of Commerce. "We're in our new building and our new office location. We have a wonderful foyer area. We have lots of space here to have some committee meetings and things," Reynolds said.

The new address is the fourth location for the Petal Area Chamber of Commerce.
