Good Monday morning everybody! A quick look at the radar this morning shows things are pretty quiet across the Pine Belt. The one thing that most people will notice is the increase in humidity! After a weekend of dry and slightly cooler temperatures, the moisture is flowing back in...
Dewpoints, a measure of moisture in the air, are back into the 70s across the Pine Belt. This will make it feel much warmer than the last couple of days. Factor in the humidity, and it will feel close to the triple digits this afternoon.
A weak cold front is propagating through northern Mississippi this morning. This is sparking of some impressive storms north of I-20. This front will drift southward, before stalling out around I-20. This will be the focus point for afternoon storms both Monday and Tuesday.
As you can see, Futurecast is predicting some scattered activity this afternoon. Not expecting anything too widespread, or severe, but a few strong storms are possible. Looks like we will see a better chance of rain on Tuesday as the cold front moves a little closer.
More rain chances are possible later on in the week as another cold front approaches the region. Depending on how far south this front can push, we may see another round of drier and slightly cooler air for early next week.
