Ellisville fails to meet state water pump monitoring requirements

ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

Ellisville residents are concerned about a letter they received this week concerning the city's drinking water.

The letter states the city has not met the state's monitoring requirements; however, Mayor Tim Waldrup said the water is perfectly fine.

Waldrup said the letter is required to go out to residents when a city fails to meet state water monitoring guidelines.

He said a piece of equipment called the analyzer used in the water monitoring process went out last year but has since been replaced.

Despite that, the city continued to monitor the pumps everyday, not just every four hours like required by the state.
