WDAM Viewpoint- Favre back on the gridiron

When he played the game, everyone said that future NFL Hall of Famer, Brett Favre played it like a kid.  He had a passion for the game, a drive to win and seemed to thoroughly enjoy playing football.  Now he will be coaching the high school foot ball team at Oak Grove as Offensive Coordinator.  We  have to say that it is refreshing to see someone of Favre's stature on the field eschew chasing even more big bucks by becoming a network commentator or perhaps pursuing coaching on a higher level in order to give back to the kids in the community in which he lives.  He has worked with the Oak Grove Warriors in the past, but never in an official capacity.  Now he will actually be a permanent fixture on the coaching staff and for that we salute him.  I suppose somewhere there may have been someone of Brett's accomplishments and super-stardom that did something similar…but few have taken this road.  Congratulations to the Warriors and to Brett Favre.  It is destined to be a good fit.

I'm Jim Cameron.  Let us know what you think.

The Mississippi State Department of Health reported there are now 12 cases of West Nile Virus in our state Thursday morning. Although, every case is serious, that number pales in comparison, to the 247 cases in 2012. Still, you have to put a human face onto these figures to really know what this virus is capable of doing. For the past five years, the lasting affects of West Nile have been overwhelming for the Courcelle family. "You see it in the movies. You don't ever think you...
