The Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Juvenile Products Manufactures Association are launching a national campaign – bringing awareness of the dangers of baby monitor cords.
The CPSC reports at least seven known deaths by baby monitor cords. The Juvenile Products Manufactures Association is giving away free electric cord warning labels. Parents and caregivers should attach the labels to baby monitors as a reminder of the deadly hazard.
Consumer advocates and parents add baby monitors should be cordless.
Parents can view safety videos and obtain the free labels at www.babymonitorsafety.org.
