Hattiesburg police arrest alleged B & E Wine Bar burglar

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

A Hattiesburg man has been arrested and charged with breaking into a bar in downtown Hattiesburg.

Police arrested Rendell Bennett, 33, Wednesday afternoon on charges of commercial burglary. 

The thief was picked up on a security camera not once, but twice breaking into the B & E Wine Bar on July 3. 

According to police, Bennett allegedly entered the bar by breaking the front door glass just before midnight, then left with bottles of liquor. He then re-entered the bar three-and-a-half hours later and helped himself to some beer.

Police say Bennett was identified through tips from Crimestoppers. Bennett has been charged with commercial burglary.
