HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

A burglar smashed out the window on the front door and broke into B & E's Wine Bar on Front Street in downtown Hattiesburg late Tuesday night.

Bar owner Clint Wilson says at about midnight the suspect used a chair from in front of Brownstones to smash out the window. Once inside, the suspect took several bottles of liquor and caused some minor damage behind the bar.

Wilson said they were able to capture video of the suspect from surveillance cameras and have turned the video over to Hattiesburg police. He said the video caught the suspect from several different angles and they have a clear picture of what he looks like.

The video showed the suspect as a white male, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds. Wilson said the suspect was "very preppy looking."

"All I can say is that it is a beautiful thing to have the video recording device in place when things like this happen," said Wilson.

This is the first time in the six years the Wine Bar has been open that it has been broken into.
