HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Two early morning fires kept Hattiesburg firefighters busy Monday.

The first call came in at around 5 a.m. to a fire at two homes in the 1300-block of Elizabeth Avenue. Both homes were unoccupied and scheduled for demolition. Authorities said no utilities were connected to either home. They are calling the fire suspicious and are offering a $1000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

The second call came in also around 5 a.m. for a fire at a home in 1600-block of Cedar Street. This home was also unoccupied and was being used as a storage facility for an Edwards Street variety store. The cause of this one is under investigation.

Anyone with information about either of the fires should contact the Hattiesburg Fire Department at 545-6678.
