Dangerous heat remains in the forecast this weekend throughout the Pine Belt.
A high around 99° is expected Saturday afternoon, but when you factor in the humidity, heat index values will be between 105°-110°. It's for this reason that the National Weather Service office in Jackson has issued a Heat Advisory for most of the Pine Belt through 10 PM Sunday evening.
Similar conditions are expected for Sunday afternoon, continuing into the early portions of next week. There is some relief in the forecast though, with afternoon highs expected to dip back down at least into the middle 90s by mid-week.
If you are going to be outdoors this weekend, please make sure to take the necessary heat precautions...
