Trial of accused Hunt Club shooter nears end

The prosecution has rested in the two-day trial of Travis Brown who is accused of opening fire on three USM football playersin 2010 at the Remington's Hunt Club night club leaving one player, Martez Smith, paralyzed from the waist down.

Only one witness was called to the stand Friday. Crime Scene Investigator, Denise Ruple, testified about evidence collected at the scene. Defense Attorney, Michael Crosby, attempted to prove negligence in the investigation due to the inability to find fingerprints on shell casings at the scene. Brown declined to testify.

The jury will reconvene at 12:30 p.m. for closing statements.
