Stubborn bull on the loose finally corralled

A young bull on the loose was finally rounded up late Tuesday afternoon in the Leeville Community.

A Forrest County deputy responded to a complaint of a bull roaming free on Leeville Road. When he got there he found the bull in a field in front of a home. Neighbors told the deputy they did not know who the bull belonged to.

The deputy contacted Jenny Bridges from Trails End Horse Haven. Bridges and her sister Dori Thompson run a horse rescue operation in Petal and Oak Grove.

Not having experience with these types of animals, they called in two experienced cow hands to help with the rescue. Even with the added help, rounding up the stubborn bull was not easy.

"We have never done anything like this before, especially a bull," said Thompson. That's why we called in the cow hands. We want to thank Deputy Andy, and our volunteers for helping get this done."

It took about 30-minutes to round up the bull. It's now in foster care.
