Dozens of women from the Laurel and Jones County area gathered Friday night to help raise funds to support a local health organization and an event which focuses on women's health issues.
The first, PJ's and Pearls event was held at South Central Place.
Attendees browsed through a mini-shopping village and enjoyed a program which included a magician, a pajama beauty review and a talk show.
It was a fundraiser for the South Central Healthcare Foundation and the 2013 Women's Life Conference.
"This year, we did not hold the conference. We simply needed more funds without raising ticket prices for these ladies, so everyone could be able to come to that event, so this event will help to fund that," said Karen Vanderslice, coordinator for community education programs at South Central Regional Medical Center.
The first Women's Life Conference was held in 1990.
