JCJC blood drive aids ATV accident victim

ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

Organizers of the Jones County Junior College Summer Blood Drive saw a steady stream of people from the community come in to donate, all in the name of Katlyn Graham.

Graham is the South Jones student who was seriously injured in an ATV accident back in May. She continues to try and recover in a Jackson hospital. Those close to her say she is improving, but still has a long way to go.

United Blood Services conducted the blood drive and pitched in with donations of their own to help Katlyn. They pledged $15 for each donated pint of blood to Graham's parents to help them cover out-of-pocket medical expenses.

All donors who participated in the drive received a commemorative T-shirt.
