Jones County man killed in one-vehicle accident

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A Jones County man was killed Sunday morning when his vehicle crashed head-on into a tree in the Glade community of Jones County.

At approximately 7:45 a.m. Glade Volunteer Fire Department medical first responders and rescue units were called to the 2000 block of Ellisville Tuckers Crossing Road.

According to officials on scene a dark blue Nissan Maxima apparently left the road and became airborne before crashing head-on into a large White Oak tree.

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by Jones County Coroner Nancy Barnette and was later identified as Nicholas Kennon Fox, age 29, originally of Ellisville now living in Hattiesburg.

Also responding to the scene were Jones County Fire Coordinator Dan McKenna, Jones County Emergency Management Agency Executive Director Lance Chancellor, Investigator Wayne Black with the Jones County District Attorney's Office, Capt. Jerry Hutcheson with the Jones County Sheriff's Department, Jones County Sheriff's Department Deputies and EMServ ambulance service.
