Event features music composed in concentration camp

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Dozens of folks headed out to downtown Hattiesburg's Oddfellow's Gallery Sunday to take in the Quartet for the End of Time, performed by the Vireo Ensemble.

"It's an exciting event, it was actually a Quartet written in a Holocaust camp," said Assistant to the Festival South marketing director Aaron Strum. "It's very exciting to be able to share this culture with downtown Hattiesburg. And it's exciting to see what the festival has had in store for us this year, record attendance and we're just excited for what we've got going on this year

The acoustics of the gallery's upstairs room made for especially easy listening Sunday afternoon.

The Oddfellow's Gallery has a couple more events coming up this week: A violin and piano duo plays on Monday evening, and another instrumental performance is there Tuesday evening.
