Jefferson Davis officials say the people voted no to a new jail

JEFFERSON DAVIS COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

Inmates have been complaining about the deplorable conditions at the Jefferson Davis County jail but supervisor say things are subject to remain that way for a while.

The president of the board of supervisor, Bobby Rushing said they are well aware of the conditions in the county jail but says the people of the county voted not to build a new jail back in 2010.

The sheriff said although the jail is old, they clean it daily, but inmates are somewhat part of the problem.
