Convicted man denied request in Nathan Key case

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

The Mississippi Court of Appeals has denied the request of a man convicted of the hit and run of a 5-year-old Jones County boy.

Dominic Gebben requested a new trial after being sentenced to 22 years in jail for the death of Nathan Key. Gebben said his trail should have been moved to another county because of the pre-trail publicity, but he says the court did not give the jurors proper instructions on the law when it comes to culpable-negligence manslaughter.

The court of appeals denied both of Gebben's requests. Since Gebben's 2010 sentence, a bill in honor of Nathan Key has been signed into law.
