Mississippi's insurance commissioner spoke to delegates at the annual American Legion Boys State Friday morning.
Mike Chaney, who also serves as state fire marshal, talked about his job and answered questions from the delegates about insurance, healthcare and other issues.
Boys State gives high school seniors a chance to learn how state government works.
During the weeklong event, state officers are elected and laws are passed.
Before his speech, Chaney met Skyler Flowers of Sumrall, who was elected insurance commissioner for Boys State earlier this week.
