Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood speaks to delegates at the American Legion Boys State in Hattiesburg Thursday night.
HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -
Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood had both words of encouragement and caution for delegates to the American Legion Boys State in Hattiesburg Thursday night. Hood told the delegates that by participating in Boys State, they're getting a head start in learning about how government works.
But, he also warned them about how technology can get them into trouble, especially when it comes to using the internet and mobile devices.
"As attorney general, I always talk to them about the dangers of the internet, about sexting and texting and warn them about making photographs and forwarding them of young girls and so forth, so we always get into the conversation about sexting and texting and technology and also, intellectual property theft," Hood said.
He said he's spoken to Boys State delegates every year since he's been in office.
