Public hearing regarding Hub City redistricting held

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

It was a night of heated discussion Tuesday at University Baptist Church as the Hattiesburg City Council held a public hearing to discuss redistricting.

A coalition of black community leaders were present to express their concern over redistricting becoming a racial issue.

"It can't help but become a race issue. The bottom line is honesty," said Ward 5 resident, Elaine Hartfield.
